• It is with pleasure I can report that planning permission has now been approved for the relocation of lights from the Glass House to Odd Down, to facilitate our training requirements. In the coming weeks we will be looking for volunteers to assist with their relocation. Please look out for these dates on your email or notices at the club
• A preventative maintenance plan is in place at the clubhouse and we should all see some subtle changes to the clubhouse over the coming months to make it an even nicer place to be!!!
• We have now secured a commitment from BANES for the use of Odd Down Changing facilities, which you will agree is now better than our previous changing rooms at The Glass House. Unfortunately this does come with costs of £4000 per year and in today’s tough conditions we as a club are required to finance this. We currently have no sponsorship for this expense and therefore I urge all members to pay their memberships and match fees without delay.  A full review of membership fees will take place at the end of the current season, with a focus on improved payment methods such as direct debit or Standing order.
• 2009 will see Old Culverhaysians RFC celebrating their 50th Anniversary. We have a number of events planned for next year; however we are looking for more ideas and people to make this a real success. Please let me know if you can help.
• An expanded and improved tour has now been confirmed to Torquay on March 20th – 22nd 2009 to coincide with our anniversary year – Please see posters at club and your emails for further information.
• It is hoped with the new generation of players at the club we can re introduce Boxing Day rugby and on Saturday 27th December2008 (11am KO) a game is planned between the under 30s v over 30s of the squad/club or your dad, brother or sister. Fun and Games back at the club – more drinking and partying for the under 30s!!
• On a couple of disappointing notes I have to report that our 1st XV have been deducted 2 championship points due to a player registration error. We have now resolved this matter, however I urge all players, 1st or 2nds to get registered immediately. I can also report a player has been suspended from playing for 15 weeks. Please consider your actions on the pitch. We have to take disciplinary seriously and you will pay any incurred costs to the club
• Tickets are now on sale for the RFU Grand Draw - £1 per ticket or £5 per book- Excellent prizes and the club keep 95% of the ticket sales
• Finally – Do we have your correct details, particularly email?????

I appreciate this may be a bit basic at the moment and there are no fun bits for you to read. I will endeavor to publish a news letter every six weeks to keep you informed and I will look to improve the layout and content as it develops. Let me know if you can help in anyway
