Old Culverhaysians suffered a last minute defeat at Broad Plain on Saturday. Playing on a very wide pitch both teams attacked each other with venom. After defending for the first 15 minutes C's managed to get in the  Broad Plain half, although creating chances they could not score.
Just before half time the Broad Plain 2nd row sold a dummy and ran 20 yards to score.
At the start of the 2nd half C's scored a try through No.8 Ben Newman which was converted by fly half Andy Hillbourne. This was followed by a try for centre Rob Heathman after great work by forwards and backs alike, this try was also converted.
Broad Plain were then awarded a penalty try which was converted to bring the scores level.
While the C's player was in the sinbin winger Carl Gordon  raced away to score a superb try, again converted by Hillbourne.
Broad Plain  with a man advantage then scored wide out but missed the conversion to set up a thrilling end to the match.
With the C's player back on the field the referee said there was one minute to play, eight minutes later he awarded a penalty in front the posts for Plain to snatch a one point victory.
